Baked Italian sausage and peppers served on a bun or with pasta, is so simple and delicious. My favorite way to eat them is on a bun, they make the best sandwich.

This recipe could not be any easier. The sausage turns out juicy and delicious. Also, one of the nice things about baking them in the oven is that you don’t have the mess you sometimes get when making them on the stove.

Helpful Tips

  • Preheat the oven before placing the links in the oven.
  • If the sausages are frozen, thaw them before baking.
  • Turn the sausages at least once while baking them. This will ensure that they are baked evenly.
  • Check to make sure the sausages are cooked properly before serving them. The temperature should be 165 degrees F. The sausage should be browned through with no pink in the center.
  • If you have leftovers cool them completely and store them in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

  • Red Pepper – Choose firm peppers.
  • Onion – I like a yellow onion for this recipe, but you can use your favorite.
  • Olive Oil – Makes flavor to the vegetables as they bake.
  • Non-Cooking Spray – To help sausages, peppers, and onions from sticking to the aluminum foil.

Now this sounds like my kind of meal, Dawn! Laura is Italian, so sausage and peppers is a staple. But we haven’t made them in a while, and I love the idea of making these as a sheet pan dinner. Nice and easy (and delicious)…that’s perfect for busy holiday days! ๐Ÿ™‚ Looks quite tasty, my friend!

Simply Amazing. I added a little shredded Gouda (had to Iโ€™m a Dutchman๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ˜‰) over it about 40 mins in, and it was delicious. So I tried it again a week later this time with a nice aged sharp cheddar, but this time put a small slit down the centre of the links, and added the cheese there. Made some fresh buns and made them for a family potluck. Made 45 of them, and it was the only dish with no leftovers. So my family agrees. Simply delicious! Greetings from Saskatchewan Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ!
