Homemade BBQ Sauce is a thick, sweet, tangy sauce made with ingredients you probably have in your kitchen right now.

I believe that homemade is always better than store-bought. This BBQ sauce recipe is one that I have been making for years. I make it whenever I am making any barbecue meats.
Every time I make this sauce my hubby tells me that this is the best sauce he has ever eaten. It is a recipe that you can use for meats that are roasted in the oven or meats that are made on the grill. Another reason I love this recipe is that it is so simple to make and, the flavor is delicious.

Helpful Tips
- Don’t worry about the brand or price of the ketchup used in this recipe. I usually buy the least expensive ketchup for this recipe.
- Many barbecue sauces call for water, but I prefer not to use it because it dilutes the sauce and reduces the flavor.
- I use distilled white vinegar for this recipe. Apple cider is a good substitute.
- Simmer the sauce for 5 to 10 minutes to blend the ingredients and flavors
- The sauce can be used on chicken, pork, or beef. It gives the meat a tangy delicious flavor.
- The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
