- 1 1/2 cup ketchup
- 6 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Combine the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, and onion powder in a medium saucepan.
Place on medium-low and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes
- Use inexpensive ketchup for this recipe. It doesn't matter what brand you use.
- Do not skip the Worcestershire sauce for this recipe. It gives great flavor to the sauce.
- It is not necessary to heat the sauce before applying it to your meat/dish. I like to heat the sauce to blend the flavors.
- Do not add water to the sauce. I know that some sauces have water as an ingredient, but I like the sauce so it is thick.
- The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in and airtight container.
