Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 6 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Combine the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, and onion powder in a medium saucepan.
  • Place on medium-low and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes

Notes

  1. Use inexpensive ketchup for this recipe. It doesn't matter what brand you use.
  2. Do not skip the Worcestershire sauce for this recipe. It gives great flavor to the sauce.
  3. It is not necessary to heat the sauce before applying it to your meat/dish. I like to heat the sauce to blend the flavors.
  4. Do not add water to the sauce. I know that some sauces have water as an ingredient, but I like the sauce so it is thick.
  5. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in and airtight container.
