The perfect snack… peanut butter and cinnamon popcorn

Popcorn has been the snack of choice for many years in my family. Whenever there is a gathering where there are snacks you will definitely find popcorn.

When serving popcorn we usually go with butter and salt… maybe caramel popcorn once in a while. Then our daughter Krista mentioned that she likes to make peanut butter and cinnamon popcorn. I was surprised when she mentioned it, I had never heard of such a thing. That really got my interest and I couldn’t stop thinking about.
I wasn’t quite sure how this combination would be, but none the less I had to try it. I decided to add a little honey for some sweetness.
To my surprise this made one of the best popcorn that I have ever eaten. The peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon are truly a heavenly combination. If you love peanut butter you really should try this. It is simple to make and oh so tasty!! I used popcorn that I popped… no microwave popcorn, although I would think that you could use microwave popcorn if that is all you have.
Peanut Butter and Cinnamon Popcorn
Ingredients
About 2 quarts of popped popcorn
1/2 cup honey
2/3 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
Directions:
1. Place popped popcorn in a large bowl.
2. In a small sauce place butter and honey, over medium heat bring honey to a boil. Once it starts to boil remove from heat.
3. Add the peanut butter and stir until it is well blended (the heat of the honey will softened the peanut butter and it will blend nicely).
4. Once the honey and peanut butter is well blended add the cinnamon and mix until well combined.
5.Pour the peanut butter mixture over popcorn and mix until the popcorn is well coated. (I poured half of the peanut butter mixture and mixed and once it was mixed in I pour the rested and finished).
6. Serve. Leftovers can be stored  in an air tight container.

I love popcorn, especially on a weekend afternoon when a game is on. I’ve made Caramel Corn before but never would have thought of this combination, I bet it’s delicious.

This peanut butter and cinnamon popcorn recipe sounds absolutely delicious! I love the idea of combining peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon for a sweet and nutty flavor. It’s a great alternative to traditional buttered or caramel popcorn. I’ll definitely be trying this at my next family movie night! Do you think adding a pinch of sea salt would enhance the flavors even more?
