Strawberry Cream Cheese Filled Crescent Rolls

These Strawberry Cream Cheese Filled Crescent Rolls are soft, tender rolls filled with a strawberry cream cheese filling and drizzled with lemon icing.

Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent rolls 8 rolls
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped strawberries

Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2- 2 1/2 Tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a medium bowl add the cream cheese and beat with an electric mix for 20 to 30 seconds. Add the 1/3 cup of powdered sugar and vanilla and mix in. Fold in the finely chopped strawberries.
  • Remove the crescent rolls from the can and separate. Divide the cream cheese filling between the 8 rolls. Place the filling on the widest side of the roll, leaving space at the ends.
  • Gently roll up each crescent roll. If you like you can press the ends together to keep the cream cheese filling in the rolls.
  • Place on an ungreased baking pan and place in the preheated oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Cool completely.
  • While the crescent rolls are cooling make the icing. Add the powdered sugar to a small bowl; gradually add the lemon juice until you have proper consistency for drizzling. Beat until smooth.
  • Drizzle over cooled rolls.

Notes

  1. Have the cream cheese at room temperature. It will help with blending everything together.
  2. Beat the cream cheese about 20 to 30 seconds before adding the remaining ingredients. 
  3. Bake the rolls on an ungreased baking sheet. 
  4. Cool the rolls completely before drizzling the icing on the baked crescent rolls. 
  5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. 
  6. The cream cheese filled crescent rolls can be frozen. The rolls should be thawed in the refrigerator. Remove the rolls from the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes to warm to room temperature before serving.
