Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 2/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 11.5 ounce bag semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet, line the baking sheet with parchment paper or use a silicone baking mat.
  • Sift together the flour, soda, and salt set aside
  • In a medium bowl add the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar mix together with an electric mixer. Beat in the eggs. Add the vanilla and mix in.
  • Gradually add the flour until all is mixed in. Mix in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop from rounded teaspoons on the prepared baking sheet. Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown and the centers are set.
  • Remove from the oven, let the cookies set on the baking sheet for a few minutes before placing on a cooling rack.
  • Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  1. Use butter and eggs that are room temperature.
  2. If you like you can use 1/2 cup of butter and 1/4 cup of shortening instead of all butter.
  3. Store in an airtight container.
  4. These cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months and when they are thawed they will taste as if you just made them.
