Hot Fudge Sauce

This Hot Fudge Sauce is made with just a handful of ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen right now. If you like to top your ice cream with a chocolatey, thick, rich chocolate topping then this one is for you.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • dash salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a microwave-safe bowl or measuring cup add the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt and mix until combined.
  • Add the water and stir in.
  • Place in the microwave and cook on full power for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove the sauce from the microwave halfway through the cooking time and stir.
  • Add the butter and place back in the microwave and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  • Remove from the microwave and stir to blend in the butter.
  • Add the vanilla extract and blend in. Serve.

Notes

  1. Use a microwave bowl for this recipe.
  2. Make sure that there are no lumps of cocoa before adding the water.
  3. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a week.
  4. To reheat put the amount you want and microwave to the desired temperature.
