Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Remove the beans from the cans into a colander and rinse with cold water until the water runs clear. Dry the beans with paper towels. Spread on a large baking pan.
Roast the beans for 5 to 7 minutes or until they start to split. Remove from the oven and set the pan on a cooling rack until the beans are cool.
Place the beans in a large bowl and mash the beans with a fork, leaving a few unmashed.
Add the remaining ingredients to the mashed beans and mix until well combined.
Divide the bean mixture and make it into six patties. Place the patties in the freezer for 30 minutes to set up.
Add olive oil to the skillet enough to cover the bottom of the skillet and heat over medium heat.
Place the patties in the pan (do not overcrowd). Cook until the patties are slightly crispy and the centers are heated through about 4 minutes on each side.
Serve on your favorite bun with your favorite toppings.
