Banana Nut Bread

Banana nut bread is a moist quick bread, it is one of my all-time favorite breads to eat. This bread is easy to make and comes together quickly.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 very ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 to 1 cup of chopped nuts walnuts or pecans work best

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a bread pan.
  • In a medium bowl cream together the sugar and butter with an electric mixer.
  • Add and mix the eggs into the batter.
  • Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture and mix in.
  • Add the mashed bananas and mix until well blended.
  • Fold in the chopped nuts
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake 55 to 60 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and cool on cooling rack.
  • Remove from pan.
  • Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  1. Grease and flour a bread pan for easy removal
  2. Use bananas that are ripe.
  3. Use a knife to run around the edge of the pan before removing the bread, this will help remove the bread easily.
  4. This bread freezes well.
