- 2/3 cup cocoa
- 3/4 cup butter
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 by 13-inch pan.
Add the cocoa and butter to a small sauce. Melt the butter and cocoa together over low heat. Once the butter it is melted and the cocoa is blended in set aside.
In a medium bowl beat egg for a minute or two with an electric mixer. Gradually add the sugar while beating it in. Add the vanilla and mix in.
Take the chocolate mixture and mix in until well combined. Sift together the flour and salt and mix in.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and place in the oven. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not over bake.
- Use real butter for this recipe. It will give the brownies the best flavor.
- Use natural cocoa powder.
- Don't over-bake the brownies. Use a wooden pick to insert in the middle of the brownies. When the pick comes out with a few moist crumbs or clean the brownies are done.
- Cool completely before cutting the brownies.
- The brownies can be frozen.
