Ham and Noodle Casserole

Ham and Noodle Casserole a delicious easy cheesy casserole.  Perfect comfort food for the cold days and nights. It is sure to be a family favorite that you will want to make over and over again.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 2 cups cubed ham
  • 3/4 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cook the egg noodles using the directions on the package
  • In a large skillet melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir until well combined and smooth about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Slowly add the milk and cream, stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture starts to thicken about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the sour cream and 2 cups of the cheddar cheese and stir in. Continue to stir until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth,
  • Add the noodles, ham, and peas, and carrots, stir in.
  • Pour into a 9x13-inch baking pan. Top with the remaining cheese.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and starting to brown.

Notes

  1. Cook the noodles using the directions on the package.
  2. Egg noodles work well for the recipe, but you can use your favorite pasta for this recipe.
  3. The ham can be cut up the day before to save time. Buy shredded cheese to make the recipe faster.
  4. Store the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 5 days.
