Saucy Crockpot Chicken is a recipe for chicken that is cooked in a sweet and tangy sauce for hours in a crockpot. After cooking away for hours the chicken comes out tender and juicy. It's super easy to make and is so satisfying.
Chop the green peppers and onion into small pieces. Mince the garlic. Combine the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, hot sauce, chicken broth, green pepper, onion, and garlic. Set this aside.
In a skillet add the olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the chicken thighs and brown lightly on both sides. About 3 minutes on each side.
Place the chicken thighs in the crockpot once they are browned. Wipe out the skillet so the oil/grease is wiped out. Add the sauce to the skillet heat over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
Once the sauce has come to a boil remove from the heat and pour over the chicken in the crockpot.
Cook in the crockpot for 3-5 hours on high or 5 to 7 hours on low.
Notes
Use bone-in chicken thighs for the best-tasting chicken.
I like to brown the chicken before adding it to the crockpot, but if you prefer not to that will work. I have actually made it both ways. Just keep in mind that the chicken may need to cook slightly longer if it is not browned.
To reheat the chicken you can use the microwave for a fast way to warm it up or you can place it in the oven and heat it to the desired temperature.
