My crock pot and I have become best friends of late. Together we have been making some amazing food. It is too bad that I didn’t discover it sooner.
This past weekend things were really busy and I was looking for something simple to make for dinner. Then I remember a beef recipe that I had pinned on Pinterest for a time such as this. And you guessed it; yes it did involve my crock-pot.
The beef is put into the crock pot along with herbs and seasoning, then at the end it is shredded. Put it on your favorite bun or roll and you have a delicious sandwich. Add a nice salad or some chips and you have a meal that just about anyone will gobble up.
I decided to change the recipe up some by adding a few more herbs and seasonings. The beef was tender and very flavorful. I know that this recipe will be made again and again.
Crock-Pot French Dip Sandwich (Source: Adapted from missinformation.com)
Ingredients:
3- 4 pounds Roast Beef (your favorite cut)
3 teaspoon beef bouillon
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon rosemary
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup soy sauce
4 to 6 cups water
Hard rolls
Directions:
Place the roast into the crock pot. Then in a medium bowl add all the herbs and seasonings mix well. Add the soy sauce to the herbs and seasoning and mix in, make sure that it is well blended. Take you soy sauce mixture and pour over the roast. Throw in the bay leaf, then take your water and pour into crock pot making sure that the meat is fully covered. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hour, until tender. About half way through the cooking time you can add sliced onions and peppers to the crock pot for additional flavor. Shred meat put back into the juice and serve. Reserve a little juice for dipping or simple pouring over the meat. Top with a little provolone cheese and you have a masterpiece.

This is a great, basic recipe. It’d be pretty easy to change up, too, and take in another direction. Add some Mexican seasonings, for example, so you’d have some great taco or burrito meat! Good stuff – thanks.
