Creamy Garlic Pasta is a side dish that is simple to make. This pasta dish is the perfect side dish for almost any meal you serve.
The base for the sauce is a basic white sauce. It is simple to make and it goes well with the pasta. The garlic and the parmesan cheese bring this side to the next level. Add different herbs to suit your taste.

Helpful tips
- Follow the directions on the package for cooking the pasta,
- Stir the pasta once in a while to prevent it from sticking together.
- Check the noodles for doneness before the time is up, not to overcook. Also, check when the cooking time is up to ensure the noodles are cooked enough.
- Stir the flour into the butter quickly until all lumps are gone for a smooth sauce.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add more milk to thin to the desired thickness.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days.
Ingredients needed for this creamy garlic pasta recipe
- 8 ounces of pasta
- Olive Oil
- Butter
- Garlic
- Flour
- Heavy cream
- Milk
- Dried Parsley
- Parmesan Cheese
Steps for making cream garlic pasta
Steps one and two
Cook the pasta using the directions on the package. Add the olive oil and garlic to a large skillet and cook for a minute or two.
Steps three and four
Add the butter and flour to the skillet. Stir until the flour and the butter are combined and the mixture is smooth.
Steps five, six, and seven
Gradually add the cream and milk to the skillet. Stir constantly. Continue to cook until the sauce is thickened. Add the parmesan cheese and parsley to the white sauce. Stir until the parmesan cheese and parsley are incorporated.
Steps eight and nine
Add the cooked pasta to the white sauce. Toss until the pasta is coated with the sauce.

Creamy Garlic Pasta
Ingredients
- 8 ounces uncooked pasta your favorite
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper Optional
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the direction on the box. Once it is cooked, drain and set aside.
- In a skillet heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for a minute or so.
- Add the 2 tablespoons of butter along with the flour. Stir constantly until the butter and flour are combined and smooth.
- Gradually add the cream and milk, stirring constantly.
- Continue to cook until the sauce thickens.
- Add the parsley and Parmesan cheese. Stir until well combined.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss until the pasta is coated with the sauce.
Notes
- Use the directions on the box for cooking the pasta.
- Make sure to add salt to the water for the pasta. Also, the water should be boiling before adding the pasta.
- Stir the pasta once in a while when it is cooking to prevent the pasta from sticking.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add more milk to thin it out. Add enough to make the desired thickness.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
